Taner is in a German prison, and deportation to Turkey is looming. While the system counts days, Bahar uses the only thing she can control: time. She turns the camera toward her family, not for spectacle, but for truth that doesn’t want to be neat. Yildiz and Mustafa, 64 and 65, and their sons Taner and Onur, 40 and 30, talk their way backward through a history that never actually ends. You get the 1989 escape to Europe after political persecution of their alevitisch-kurdische family in Turkey. Then the aftermath hits hard. Racist attacks, depression, parents overwhelmed, and siblings coping in their own mismatched ways. It’s quiet, observant filmmaking with the nerve to let discomfort sit where it belongs.

Taner sitzt in Deutschland im Gefängnis. Noch ein Schritt und die Abschiebung in die Türkei wird Realität. Während die Behörden also Bürokratie spielen, macht Bahar etwas anderes. Sie nimmt sich Zeit und richtet die Kamera auf die Familie. Yildiz und Mustafa, mit 64 und 65, wirken nicht wie Figuren aus einem Schaubild, sondern wie Menschen, die das Leben schon zu lange tragen. Dazu die Brüder Taner und Onur. Gespräche werden zu kleinen Zeitmaschinen: 1989 fliehen sie nach Europa, weil die alevitisch-kurdische Familie in der Türkei politisch verfolgt wird. Dann: rassistische Übergriffe, Depressionen, Überforderung. Und jedes Kind verarbeitet diese Last anders. Nicht laut, eher still. Genau deswegen trifft es.
